The Art Nouveau saw a boom in dragonfly themed jewellery such this beautiful 9ct gold and sapphire brooch.
Earlier in the period the dragonfly pieces were often loaded with gemstones and diamonds and were very expensive to own but due to the popularity of such pieces more affordable versions were produced to cater for the wider market.
The bar brooch style was a popular choice as it was so versatile and easy to wear, they could be used as tie pins, scarf pins, pinned to hats and mich more.
This is a particularly nice dragonfly brooch with lots of detailing and it has a lovely rich vibrant blue sapphire set to the body.
It comes with an additional safety chain for peace of mind when wearing.

Condition: Good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age and use.
