Ref. 196.0030
This time, we're offering a special timepiece! Stylish and collectible, this is a vintage Omega Megaquartz 32 KHz dress wristwatch, reference 196.0030, dating to 1972 based on the serial number.
It is a battery-powered watch featuring Omega’s in-house quartz-controlled stepper motor movement, caliber 1310. This movement includes 8 jewels, a sweep second hand, quickset day/date function, hacking seconds, and operates at a high frequency of 32,768 Hz. Swiss made.
The Omega caliber 1310 was introduced in 1973 as the brand’s first in-house quartz movement and was produced until around 1978. Known for its resistance to shocks, magnetism, and temperature fluctuations, it later evolved into the caliber Omega 1315.
Housed in a 39.5mm stainless steel tonneau case with a combination satin/polished finish and 20-micron gold electroplating. It retains its original signed Omega crown.
In good condition, the watch features its original black dial with gold and white baton hour markers, luminous dots, a white minute/second track, and matching luminous gold hands. The date window sits at 3 o’clock, and the dial is signed with the Omega name and logo, along with “Megaquartz 32 KHz” at the top.
Fitted with the original Omega stainless steel bracelet, also finished in satin/polished with a gold electroplated top and signed deployant clasp. Currently sized to fit wrists up to 7" (17.8 cm).
This wristwatch is in good pre-owned condition and would make a fantastic addition to any vintage collection.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have concerning size.
We prefer to take photographs outdoors when the weather allows. However, when shooting indoors, please note that we use lightboxes equipped with 360 LED bulbs, which can magnify any flaws that may be less noticeable to the naked eye. That said, we never use Photoshop to alter our images or remove blemishes. While we may adjust the lighting as needed, what you see is what you get, and we take pride in that.
